Béla Fleck, Zakir Hussain and Edgar Meyer are genre-bending masters on their respective instruments. Béla Fleck is widely-considered to be the world’s premier banjo player. Fleck’s sound--steeped in jazz, funk, and bluegrass—has earned him Grammy in more categories than any instrumentalist in Grammy history, and he has taken home 15 golden gramophones. Zakir Hussain is an international percussion phenomenon. Hussain is considered a chief architect of the contemporary world music movement and is a national treasure in his native India. A virtuoso classical tabla player, Hussain’s hallmark is his uncanny intuition and masterful improvisation. Edgar Meyer, master of the double bass, has worked with the likes of Yo-Yo Ma and Chris Thile. Meyer combines unparalleled technique and musicianship on the double bass with a unique gift of composition, a combination that earned him a MacArthur Award. When these three singular talents take the stage together they are apt to traverse every geographic and stylistic corner of the globe, from classical to bluegrass to world music. This trio of maestros represent a merging of musical worlds!
